Last month, Dells.com unveiled a new, updated version of their website. At the heart of the new site is a Wisconsin Dells social networking feature, called MyDells. Hoping to capitalize on the popularity of social networking sites like Facebook and Myspace, MyDells lets users interact with other Dells visitors. Functions of the new MyDells site include letting users share pictures, videos, set up personalized groups, and chat among other features.
Although there hasn’t been much posted to the MyDells site since its launch, there is a lot of potential for growth. Ad-Lit, Inc., who owns the site, reports that they had over 45 million visitors to their Dells.com website since its debut in 1995. The addition of MyDells should increase the number of visitors using the Dells.com site. Dells.com still offers information on Dells events, maps, guides, and local attractions.

The dells dot com site takes an eternity for me to load on my computer. The new my dells seems bogged down with lots of bells and whistles. I guess it isn’t meant for those of us who still use a dial up connection to get on the internet.
