If you are the type of traveler who likes to take advantage of deals offered by sitting through a timeshare presentation, then this deal is for you. A website called 89 Dollar Travel offers 2 nights at the Copa Cabana Resort, or Quality Inn Antiqua Bay Resort, plus 2 passes to the Wilderness Water Park -or- a $50 Gift Certificate to a “popular restaurant” for $89. In exchange for this deal, you agree to sit through a 90 minute sales presentation, where they will try to sell you a timeshare.

This type of deal isn’t for everyone. If you can’t stand the idea of spending part of your vacation in a sales presentation, then you should pass. If you want to get a great deal though and don’t mind the sales pitch, this could be a very inexpensive get away (or a very expensive one if you can’t say no!).

The timeshare presentation is through Bluegreen Corp., which manages 2 properties in the Dells area – Christmas Mountain Village & Bluegreen Odyssey Dells (which is a part of the Hotel Rome property at Mt. Olympus).

Wisconsin Dells Discounts for Military and Police & Fire Personnel

There are several Wisconsin Dells resorts that offer special discounts to honor military families, and the families of police and fire personnel. Getting these discounts is as easy as asking for them, and then showing proper ID at check-in. The following resorts are currently offering discounts:

The best deal by far is the $69 Wilderness special. Most of the resorts offer the discount to active military and veterans, but it is best to check when you make your reservation. Some resorts also extend the discount to EMT’s, so check if you are an EMT.

Hotel Guest Murdered at Antiqua Bay?

I receive the Dells.com email updates, and received an email today regarding a murder at the Dells Antiqua Bay (formally the Howard Johnson). Upon reading the email, it is apparent that this is some sort of murder mystery promotion for guests to participate in. I just don’t think that promoting a fake murder at your hotel is good marketing. If you want to engage guests in some sort of mystery, there are so many other better options. How about a missing treasure? Or help find a pirate that has been spotted lurking around the resort. No, somehow they thought that pretending that a hotel guest was tragically murdered at the resort was a better idea.
