The Great Wolf Lodge in Wisconsin Dells is once again offering a 20% discount for stays in January, February and March. The code to get this discount is REPEATB for rooms in the hotel, and REPEATBC for condo units. The code is good for stays through March 12th. To get the 20% discount, you need to reserve by February 16th. After February 16th, the discount drops to 10%

2 Nights at Mt. Olympus Hotel Rome + Christmas Mountain Lift Tickets – $89

Mt. Olympus in the Wisconsin Dells is offering a great holiday gift card promotion, and if you play your cards right you can stay 2 nights at Hotel Rome, plus get admission to the water and theme parks, plus lift tickets for skiing, snowboarding or tubing at Christmas Mountain for less than $100. Here is the deal: If you buy a $100 Mt. Olympus gift card they will throw in one free night at Hotel Rome. The gift card can be used to reserve a second night, when you reserve your free night. (The free night is only available Sunday – Thursday through May 25th. Most rooms during this time frame are $89 a night). They are also offering the Winter Ski Special, where Hotel Rome guests get free lift tickets at Christmas Mountain while staying at the hotel. I confirmed with the hotel that you can get both the free night & the lift tickets during your visit.

Incredible All Inclusive Deal at Chula Vista

I have been eagerly checking Chula Vista’s website over the past few weeks to see if they were going to repeat the all inclusive deal that they have run in December and January the last couple of years. I am happy to report that they are offering it again this year. For $99.50 a night (2 night minimum), you get your choice of room (hotel only – no condo rooms), and all of your meals and drinks included. This is the best deal you will find in the Wisconsin Dells all year. During a Wisconsin Dells trip you could easily spend $100 a day on your meals and drinks alone.

The rate is based on double occupancy. Families with 2 adults and children under the age of 3 will get the best deal, since children under 3 are free. Children 4-20 are an additional $46 a night. There are restrictions of course. It is valid for Sunday – Thursday night stays in December and January with a few blackout days. If you haven’t been to Chula Vista before, or haven’t visited in the past couple of years, you really should check it out. They have gone through an extensive renovation of the entire resort. The highlight of the renovations is the new 80,000 square foot Lost Rios Indoor Water Park. The buffet was remodeled more recently, and is on par with some buffets I have visited in Las Vegas. This is a very popular promotion, so book early if you want to take advantage of this great deal.

2 Nights at Copa Cabana or Antiqua Bay plus Wilderness Water Park Passes $89

If you are the type of traveler who likes to take advantage of deals offered by sitting through a timeshare presentation, then this deal is for you. A website called 89 Dollar Travel offers 2 nights at the Copa Cabana Resort, or Quality Inn Antiqua Bay Resort, plus 2 passes to the Wilderness Water Park -or- a $50 Gift Certificate to a “popular restaurant” for $89. In exchange for this deal, you agree to sit through a 90 minute sales presentation, where they will try to sell you a timeshare.

This type of deal isn’t for everyone. If you can’t stand the idea of spending part of your vacation in a sales presentation, then you should pass. If you want to get a great deal though and don’t mind the sales pitch, this could be a very inexpensive get away (or a very expensive one if you can’t say no!).

The timeshare presentation is through Bluegreen Corp., which manages 2 properties in the Dells area – Christmas Mountain Village & Bluegreen Odyssey Dells (which is a part of the Hotel Rome property at Mt. Olympus).

Chula Vista November and December Specials – $50/night

Free Veterans Day Meal at Dells Applebee’s

The Wisconsin Dells Applebee’s is offering a free meal to all active duty military personnel and veterans on Veteran’s Day – November 11th, 2008. Proof of military service is required. For details on the promotion see the Applebee’s website. The Dells Applebee’s is located at 340 Hwy. 13, which is near the corner of Hwy 13 and Wisconsin Dells Parkway (near Walgreen’s).

Wisconsin Dells Discounts for Military and Police & Fire Personnel

There are several Wisconsin Dells resorts that offer special discounts to honor military families, and the families of police and fire personnel. Getting these discounts is as easy as asking for them, and then showing proper ID at check-in. The following resorts are currently offering discounts:

Wilderness, $69 a night Monday – Thursday Nights, select dates excluded. 1-800-867-9453.
Kalahari, $109 a night, selected dates. Coupon Code W1032. 1-877-525-2427.

The best deal by far is the $69 Wilderness special. Most of the resorts offer the discount to active military and veterans, but it is best to check when you make your reservation. Some resorts also extend the discount to EMT’s, so check if you are an EMT.

Wilderness Specials Through December

The Wilderness Hotel is offering $99 room rates in November & December. This is an excellent deal for rooms at one of the most popular resorts in Wisconsin Dells. If you prefer to stay in a 2 bedroom condo, that is available for $124 per night. This is an even better deal than the $99 deal. To get these special prices, call the Wilderness at 1-800-867-9453 and refer to Coupon Code I-99 for the $99 special, or Coupon Code I-124 for the $124 special. You can also try to book online. If the special rates don’t show up for you, call the 800 number instead.

There are some restrictions of course. In November, the rate is available for stays on Sunday – Thursday nights. Thanksgiving weekend is excluded. In December the rate is available for stays on Sunday – Friday nights until December 19th. There are a “limited number of rooms” available at these special rates, so book early to ensure availability.

Halloween Deals at Wilderness and Kalahari

If you’re looking for a reason to get out the of the house and head to the Wisconsin Dells, there are a couple of good deals available at the Wilderness and the Kalahari Halloween weekend. Considering that public school kids in Wisconsin have off for teachers convention at the end of next week, this deal is very timely.

For $99 a night, you can stay in a standard double queen with sofa room at the Wilderness on 10/31 and 11/1. To book this reservation, call the Wilderness at 1-800-867-9453 and refer to Coupon Code I-99.

For $109 a night, you can stay in a similar standard room at the Kalahari as a part of the Don White Block. If you are unfamiliar with the Don White Block, it is a special block of rooms offered at discount prices several times a year. Update on Kalahari Election Night Promotion

A couple of weeks ago, I posted an entry about a unique promotion that the Kalahari in Wisconsin Dells is having on election night (November 4th). At the time of your reservation you predict who is going to win the election. If your selection is right, your room is free. If you’re wrong, you get free breakfast the next morning. It is pretty hard to beat this offer.

I thought it would be interesting to see which candidate people who are making reservations are picking. I inquired with Kalahari’s PR department, and they were happy to give me the information I requested. The results were a little bit shocking to me – 100% of the reservations made under this promotion have selected Barack Obama as the winner. Not one single person has selected John McCain. Wow!
