The end of summer means the end of the busy tourist season in the Wisconsin Dells. Autumn in the Dells is a great time to visit. The crowds are gone, and as we have seen with all of the hotel deals recently, the resorts are eager to get visitors. Although the outdoor water parks have closed for the season, there are still many other outdoor activities to participate in.

September and October are great times to go on an upper or lower Dells boat ride, or a Duck ride. The fall colors along the Wisconsin River are beautiful. If you prefer to stay on land, you can still enjoy the famous Dells rock formations and beautiful fall colors along the RiverWalk. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, there are still plenty of indoor activities to check out. The Rick Wilcox Magic show still performs every Saturday night. Many of the stores in Downtown Dells are open too.

The weekend of October 18th and 19th brings the Autumn Harvest Fest. This annual festival includes traditional fall activities – scarecrow stuffing, pumpkin decorating, hay & pony rides, arts & crafts fair, farmer’s market, clowns, straw dig, live entertainment and more.
